We are mitte®
We want to provide people with safer and healthier water. At the same time we also want to prevent this plastic waste madness from continuing. We want to prevent as many plastic bottles as possible to help create a healthier, cleaner planet.
We are a group of entrepreneurial people that are driven by our vision. We bring engineering and design together to build the world’s first water home appliance that both purifies water and enriches the water with essential minerals.
You could call us a truly international bunch. Right now the permanent team is made up of 8 people and we represent 7 nationalities. English, Austrian, Brazilian, Spanish, Indian, Argentinian and German. We are proud to be based in Berlin, in the central district of “Mitte”, which – you guessed right – is also one of the inspirations for our name “mitte®”. Mitte also stands for being balanced and centered in German. It also sounds great of course.

On our journey, we are also supported by amazingly talented people that have contributed substantially and made it possible for us to come this far, and hopefully will continue working with us. A big shout out to Mathias Høst Normark and Sebastian Gram of Norgram for helping us with our brand and website and to Benny Beck and Fabian Ghoslal for being amazing product designers. Not to forget Joey Maese for his great web development and late night shifts.
We are heavily into prototyping at the moment and will tell you more about our innovative technology in the following journal entries and weeks. If everything goes as intended we plan to have a working prototype by the end of year. Like any serious hardware start-up we will put our invention up to the ultimate test: crowdfunding. We plan to have our campaign running in September 2017. After a (hopefully) super successful campaign we will set up production (in hardware world this is called “Tooling”) and hope to ship by mid 2018.
